The D-List: 2010 June Week 4

Koman Coulibaly - the referee for the USA vs Slovenia World Cup match. Still a phantom call. Offsides? Foul? Blown call.

Sports Illustrated - for sending out an email spoiling the outcome of the DVR’d US soccer game. “…jackass SportsIllustrated sent me an unsolicited email announcing in the subject line that the US fought back for a 2-2 draw.”

Steve Smith, Panthers WR - for breaking his arm…playing football…in a men’s flag football league…not from slipping while playing flag football with youths at a summer camp like he first stated. Consequently this is most likely a violation of Smith’s contract, so not only will he not be able to participate in pre-season activities, it is possible he’ll suffer other consequences as well.

France National Football Team / France - I’m not sure who is to blame and/or who is the biggest d-bag in all of this, but it sure is fun to watch…the expulsion of a player, arguments, refusal to practice, resignations, possible failure to advance from pool play, and now the trickle down all the way to French society.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest - for threatening to file a lawsuit against McDonald’s for “unfairly and deceptively” marketing toys to children which resulting in increased unhealthiness amongst America’s youth.

Parents who let this happen

James Blake - for melting down on the tennis court at Wimbledon on Tuesday and then taking out his frustration by yelling at an ESPN analyst that he apparently could hear even though the broadcast booth was stationed outside of the stadium.

Tony Hayward, BP CEO - for taking time to take part in a yacht race off the coast of England all while the Gulf Coast continues to become over saturated with oil. Sure we’re all entitled to a vacation from time to time, but as the BP CEO is already under criticism this move probably won’t sit well with those affected.

Barack Obama - for taking in a round of golf while the another 10,000 gallons of oil leaked into the gulf.
