The D-List: April Week 1

Shaun Rogers - Because the Cleveland Browns’ 350 pound defensive tackle was arrested last week at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport when he tried to board a plane with a loaded, .45 caliber, semi-automatic hand gun. Rogers has plead not guilty to the gun charges because he did not mean to take it in his carry-on.

Republican Nat'l Committee - For authorizing spending nearly $2,000 for a party at a Hollywood-themed adult nightclub in Los Angeles. AND because the party sent out a census-themed fund-raising appeal that inadvertently gave out a phone number that rang back to an adult chat line.

Kenyon Martin- For his reaction to an April Fool's prank in which someone put popcorn in his truck... "That ain't no [expletive] joke," Martin said. "I'm going to find out who did it ... put my [expletive] hands on one of y'all. I'm going to put my hands on whoever did it. You better believe that. It's [expletive] personal. You better believe it." And even went on to say "How 'bout if I don't play in the playoffs until somebody tells me who did it."

U.S. Congressman Hank Johnson - Because the US Marines are apparently planning to relocate like 9,000 troops and their families to Guam, so there's Congressional hearings about it and such and Congressman Hank Johnson was speaking to a US Admiral when he expressed reservations about adding the troops to Guam because “My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize”

Andray Blatche - for doing almost anything in his power to get his 10th rebound to reach a triple-double in the final minute of the Nets/Wizards game on Sunday. Blatche’s actions personified the D-Case way in its entirety. It all started when Blatche flung his body at a missed shot that he had no chance of getting, which ended in a foul call on Blatche, worsened when Blatche contorted his body in childish disgust after a teammate got to a rebound before him, exacerbated further when Blatche went as far to ask his teammate to miss a free throw to allow him to get his 10th rebound, and was all capped off when Blatche frantically attempted to dribble the length of the court in the last 4.2 seconds of the game to try and intentionally miss a shot and get the rebound. Thankfully Blatche was unsuccessful in all of his attempts.

Washington Redskins - for not having the decency to tell their now former starting QB Jason Campbell that Donovan McNabb had been officially traded for. You can’t fault the Redskins for making the move, you can however fault them because the news had to be broke to Campbell from a reporter calling Campbell to get his take on the trade.
Reporter: Did you hear about what happened?
Jason: What?
Reporter: The Redskins traded for Donovan.
Jason: Really? Ummm... I didn't know that, man.
Reporter: I'm sorry I had to be the one who told you. I can't believe they didn't tell you.
Jason: No, that's the first I heard of it. ... I'd better go call my agent.

The FCC - for insisting on interfering when they are not needed nor wanted. They lost a Supreme Court ruling today on "legislation" they passed 2 years ago in regards to how ISPs provide service to their customers. It appears they are taking the defeat gracefully and changing the rules of the game. Their new motion is to change the classification of the internet to a "phone" service.

2 German Females - Two women were arrested in Liverpool for trying to fly their dead relative home as opposed to filling out the annoying paperwork necessary for repatriating deceased bodies. They asked an attendant for help putting the dead man (who they put sunglasses on) from a vehicle to a wheel chair. When the man was unresponsive at security check points, emergency personnel were alerted despite the women reassuring that “he always sleeps like this”.
