The D-Case Mission Statement and History

"D-Case" is a prestigious label that has been bestowed upon the likes of John Basedow - "fitness celebrity", (resident) Dr. John Marshall - avid promoter of Hydroxcut, and Pedro Gomez - for his never-ending work in harassing Barry Bonds with steroid allegations during his home run record chase (we know he did steroids and acknowledge that he too is a D-Case, end of story.)

The etymology of the word "D-Case" begins with, of course, the word "D-Bag"...and simply put a D-Case is someone whose douche-ness is equivalent to an entire case of D-Bags. The complete hierarchy of this prestigious distinction is as follows:

D-Bag --> D-Case --> D-Crate --> D-Freight

A D-Crate can be likened to the D-Case of the Year honor in which a person has displayed many douche-like qualities over the course of an entire year, much like an MVP of a professional sports league. A D-Freight is analogous to being a member of the D-Case Hall of Fame - someone who has presented a massive display of D-Bag characteristics over an entire lifetime...hence, the D-Case Lifetime Achievement Award.

Bearing these things in mind, on a weekly basis the council calls for nominees to be voted upon to receive the distinction of D-Case of the Week...similarly the montly, yearly, and lifetime awards will be given at the appropriate time.

The nomination/voting process for each week is simple:

  • Nominations being on Monday, anyone can nominate by sending their suggestion(s) to the entire D-Case council. Simply state your nominee(s) and their reason(s) for being nominated.
  • It is important to note that each council member is not limited to a single nomination, it's possible that multiple nominations be made by one person in particularly D-Case-y weeks.
  • Nominations should be completed by Thursday at noon.
  • A list of nominees will be compiled and sent out early Thursday afternoon.
  • Each person can cast one 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place vote to be sent ONLY to the designated vote counter and NOT the entire council. This is done to provide voting anonymity and avoid band-wagoning or peer pressure.
  • Voting is to be completed by Friday at noon and the D-Case of the Week (or month, year, etc.) will be announced Friday afternoon.

D-Case Council Eligibility Requirements:
There are none...almost. The D-Case council is all about inclusion and meaningful discussion. In fact, the council encourages spreading the word of what it means to be a “D-Case” and the threat D-Case-like behavior can pose to our society. In order for new members to join the council, 3 members must approve the new applicant with no members contesting. If a member contests a new applicant, a simple majority vote of the existing council will be taken to determine the fate of the applicant.

D-Cases needn't go un-recognized any longer.

Thank you and God bless.
